Serikali kuwarejesha wakimbizi zaidi ya 3,000 waliotoroka kambi ya Kakuma

UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Valerie Amos toured today the refuge complex holding more that 440,000 refugees during the third day of her visit to southern Somalia and to the Kenya-hosted refugee complex to asses the impact of the famine. Her visit comes as the UN said its moving on two fronts to counter the worsening food crisis in the Horn of Africa, with an immediate infusion of food in an area where 640,000 children alone are threatened with acute malnutrition.

Serikali imeweka mikakati ya kuwarejesha kambini wakimbizi 3,054 waliotoroka kutoka kambi ya Kakuma na kuhamia kaunti ndogo ya Ruiru.

Yamkini wakimbizi hao walitoroka kambi hiyo baada ya jamii mbili kufarakana tarehe 20 mwezi uliopita, hali iliyosababisha familia 762 kutoroka.

Kwenye taarifa iliyotolewa na Idara ya Huduma za Wakimbizi, DRS, serikali kwa ushirikiano na Shirika la Umoja wa Mataifa la Kuhudumia Wakimbizi, UNHCR imezipatanisha jamii hizo zilizokuwa zikizozana na kurejesha hali ya utulivu.

Idara hiyo na UNHCR itafanya uthibitishaji wa wakimbizi hao upya, kabla ya kuwarejesha kambini.
